Today was one of contrast, this morning driving through Helena, MT there was fresh snow on the ground and occasional flurries and by the afternoon at Lake Yuba the temperature was nudging 90°F, people were boating and swimming and we were worrying about how to stay cool.

The drive down through Montana, Idaho and into Utah was uneventful and fast. The road was not busy and we traveled at 70-75 most of the time. It was odd to race across the countryside as so far on this trip we have been traveling slowly and taking in all we could.

The Salt Lake City never fails to amaze me. We pulled in for fuel at Bringham City a small township on the north of the Salt Lake metropolis and 100 miles later we were still just passing the southern end.

The road travels through huge valleys that right now are covered in bright green grass, I guess that will brown off as the summer arrives in force. But right now it looks very fertile.

Late in the day Nina found a campground and state park just off the highway at Yuba Lake and we pulled in for the night. Yuba was a delightful campground and we were both disappointed that we could not linger and enjoy it!!
