I was pleased to awake feeling a lot better this morning. Which meant that we would be moving on. The plan was to cross into El Salvador and drive to a government Work Center near La Libertad. These centers are provided as vacation destinations for locals and visitors alike.

However plans went a little astray at the border. This time it had nothing to do with anyones paper work but to do with political events in Honduras. Apparently there is civil unrest in Honduras and the El Salvadorians have closed their border with Honduras. They are only allowing people and vehicles in from Guatemala if they had a local address as their destination. We managed to get entry papers for ourselves and our vehicles but by the time we were done it was too late to make our days destination so Norm decided that the border parking lot was the next safest option. So we have spent the afternoon watching more caravans of battered US registered vehicles heading south, and even more of them waiting in the parking lot.
