We spent a restless morning waiting around the hotel and shopping at nearby stores for groceries and buying some additional minutes for the Colombian phone chip . Unlocking my Blackberry to work with any phone chip is turning out to be a good move.
As 2:00 pm approached we headed off to the shipping company office finding it without much trouble. Then we hit a series of minor or at least annoying little hurdles.
the boat was outside Cartagena harbor but there was no dock space, it would not dock until sometime early tomorrow morning,
the shipping company could not give us a release on the vehicle because the boat had not docked and we owed some more money to the Panama shipping agent - seems the vehicle was bigger than we had stated when they measured it on loading in Panama,
just to make this a pesky issue we could not pay the extra shipping to the Columbian agent we had to find a way of getting money to the Panamanian agent,
needless to say by this time local banks were closed so there was no chance of paying today that way,
neither of our US banks could wire the money without us being present in the bank, and BofA would not do it because we did not have an investment advisor!! - we will be closing all BofA accounts when we return,
cannot be done online as neither of our banks allow online transfer of money to accounts at another bank,
The up shot is we finished the night without a solution.
In the agents office today we met three groups of Argentines (and one French man) shipping vehicles to Panama from Colombia. They are separately heading for Central and North America. I will set up a link page and put their website addresses on it.
