The nights navigation was rough but between the pills and our tiredness we slept the night through without much disturbance.

The weather pattern was repeating today, it was cool, not much direct sun and there was cloud over the higher parts of the island.

This mornings landing was on a black sand beach, then followed by a walk along the rocks. It soon became apparent that this mornings excursion was about marine Iguanas. During our walk we encountered a number of colonies with between 50 and 150 individuals all quite crowded together. In addition we saw a few sea bears - as noted earlier, this is now the official name of what we might once have called fur seals - and a solitary hawk feeding on an Iguana (I think).

After the walk it was time for another snorkeling session while the crew of the 3 tourist boats mored in James Bay played soccer. The water was cold but the effort was rewarding - I saw three sea turtles, 2 sea lions swam around me, and a single small sting ray - that one made me think of Steve Irwin.

Another snorkeling session this afternoon. A couple of sea lions cooperated by playing with the group for most of the time we were in the water. I also got a chance to swim alongside a Manta Ray (called a devil ray down here), it was a big creature about 6 feet across.
