We spent the morning doing some more washing and other chores - boring.

Around midday we caught a taxi into Cusco's main square - Plaza De Armas. We spent some hours sightseeing around the city and visiting the local market so that Nina could try to get some good photos of local dress. The city of Cusco is dry and red - the buildings are mostly red adobe brick, with many of the bigger buildings (particularly the churches) of red granite. The dry soil is also red so that from the hills surrounding the city there is an impression of a red town. The city is also busy, lots of taxis and buses, both tourist and local, and around the center there is a substantial presence of police, transit police, tourist police, national police.
