We moved on to El Calafate today. Driving away from El Chalten the weather quickly became sunny even though the wind did not abate.
El Calafate on the shores of Lago Argentina is a very different kind of town to El Chalten. An up market tourist destination with nice shops, restaurants and many hotels.
We spent the day getting settled, and deciding what to do tomorrow.
Camping
Camping El Ovejero in El Calafate. The area set aside for motor homes is simply a dirt parking lot, but there is access to hot water for washing cloths or dishes, good showers and free wifi in the admin/restaurant building.
