It seemed to take forever to get past the Phoenix metropolitan area and then we were into the deserts of western Arizona and eventually Nevada.

The trip over Bolder Dam was slow because of tourist traffic and security. It looked like the new bridge was close to opening - it sure is an impressive construction.

We had a few navigational adventures getting through Las Vegas (just going to prove that even in the US we can get mixed up on the roads) before hitting the highway to our nights stop at Beatty, Nevada.
