Our agenda today started with a visit to The Garden House of Princess Ngoc Son. This house and surrounds was built for a daughter of King Dong Khanh (and sister of King Khai Dinh) as her residence. It seems that the princess married a senior mandarin of Dong Khanh's administration and that same family owns the property. This last point is some what unusual as many families of wealth with royal ties had their property and wealth confiscated when the communists took over Vietnam after "The American War".

We had an enjoyable presentation by one of the 4 members of the family that call this residence home. The presentation was followed by tea and rice cakes.

Over the last two days in Hue we have had many discussions with our guide about fruits and vegetables, which ones we were familiar with and which we did not know. So, partly to educate us I am sure, our last stop of the morning was the Hue market where as an experiment we bought a Mangosteen and a Dragon Fruit.

Picture 7 is the instruction sheet for what to me looks like an impossible game. Bounce a stick off a platform into the neck of a vase about 2 inches in diameter.

Finally I would like to draw your attention to photo 9 which is a good example of a significantly overloaded motorcycle.
