Our starting point today was Ock Pop Tok an establishment that combined a restaraunt/coffe shop, souvenir shop with a craft workshop that specialised in spinning, dying and weaving silk and cotton. The dying operation was particularly interesting.

The center point of the day was Kwang Si Waterfall a lengthy drive from town, but to keep us interested we stopped in a number of villages to get a glimpse of the life style and to try our hand at, in my case removing the seeds from cotton, and in Nina's case spinning cotton into thread.

We spent quite some time at the waterfall, which is a well organized affair even down to electric golf-buggie style shuttle buses for the less energetic tourists. The falls and stream are quite picturesque plus the surrounding jungle had some impressively large trees and very phototgenic flowers. We finsihed our time at the falls with a quick visit to a Bufferfly Sanctuary within the waterfall grounds.

Nina could not resist one more shot on the return journey, an organised vegetable garden.

We had dinner at the restaraunt associated with Ock Pop Tok on the banks of the Mekong.

An amazing setting.
