I have to admit to being a bit slack today as I declined the days tourist activity and sent Nina along with our guide Saruda out on their own to partake of the "city tour by walking and public transport".
The first few photos from Nina's day are of the royal palace. As you can see it has been restored magnificently. I gather from Nina the highlight of the day was the visit to The Jim Thompson House and in particular the blue porcelain cat seen in one of the above photos. The cat is a chamber pot for a child.
The last few photos are of one of the many canals in Bangkok. Our hotel's position on the cities river (Chao Phraya River) has given us a good view of how much water traffic there is, ranging from fast water taxis and ferries using those famous car engines mounted on the rear of a long thin boat to huge strings of barges being pulled/pushed by tugs.
