Regular readers of this blog will probably have already deduced that Nina and I like photographing animals/birds, so this morning we could not resist the opportunity to visit Glen Forest Animal Park a short drive from Port Lincoln. It is a bit corny going to such a place but on the other hand if did give us a chance to capture a number of iconic Australian animals.
After the animal farm Nina felt like we needed a camping place with a shower to wash off all that "animal stuff" and our camping guide informed us that the nearest town with camping that included a shower was a little inland place called Cleve.
Cleve turned out to be a small supply town for surrounding grain farms and it seems, like a number of towns we have seen on the Eyre Peninsula, to be struggling to survive. Lots of vacant buildings, a huge hotel building with only a small number of customers.
The campground did indeed have the shower that was advertised and they were more than adequate to the task of washing off "the animals".
The campground was small with only about a dozen camping spots and clearly off the main tourist route.
