Victor Harbor is South along the coast from Adelaide, it is the major town in a large wetland area that constitutes the mouth of the Murray River (Australia's longest river), and that's where we ended today, a base for a couple of days exploring the area.
The drive to and through Adelaide was like urban driving almost anywhere in the world, busy roads, lots of traffic lights and impatient drivers. Once south of Adelaide the country side became more hilly, and noticeably more fertile and eventually passed through McLaren Vale one of Australia's premier wine growing areas.
While passing through Adelaide we stopped at a park to have breakfast and Nina noticed a nearby gum tree with red flowers and spent considerable effort trying to get a good set of photos of the tree and its flowers.
One of Victor Harbor's main tourist attractions is a horse drawn train across a causeway to Granite Island.
We spent the night in the NRMA Caravan Park at Victor Harbor.
