We stayed in Alice Springs a few days, catching up on some business and having our vehicle serviced in preparation for the next leg of this journey.
As I said in the previous post our plan was to stay in a cabin at the Heritage Caravan Park in Alice. However it turned out that we stayed in 3 different cabins over 4 nights at the Heritage Caravan park. Alice was very busy at this time with a Beanie Festival underway and much of the available accommodation was booked out. So when we got a booking at the Heritage we felt pleased, until we saw "our cabin"; tiny and cramped would be an understatement. In order to get a little more space we had to move between 3 different cabins over the course of our stay.
The staff at Heritage were very helpful and cheerful being totally unfazed by our ultimately complicated arrangement. The cabins themselves though left more than a bit to be desired. So if you are looking for cabin accommodation at a campground in Alice put the Heritage Caravan Park low on your list.
