Today was mostly a travel day, we needed to take a big slice out of the distance to Carnarvon. However we did make a couple of scenic stops. The first, Shot Hole Canyon just a few kilometers south of Exmouth and around lunch time we dropped into the village of Coral Bay a very popular spot on the Ningaloo Coast.
Around mid afternoon we pulled into a 24 hour rest area near Minilya Roadhouse thinking we might stay the night there. But even at 3:00pm the place was so crowded with caravans, clearly intending to stay the night that even driving through the rest area was difficult. So we traveled a little farther south to an informal camping spot we found on Wikikamps where it was described as a "clay pan".
