It has been great to have a couple of days traveling with Bredon and Daniel, but today we go our separate ways. They will stay another day at El Questra while we (Nina and I) will start West along the Gibb River Road with the aim of being in Broome in about 4 days. So after a big cookup this morning we said our goodbyes and were on the road by about 10:30.

These days the gravel surface of the Gibb starts at the crossing of the Pentacost River. The crossing of this sometimes intimidating river was straight forward with the water only about 1/2 wheel height. About 120km farther on we crossed the Durak River. This was much wider than the Pentacost and a little deeper. Between these two crossings the road was in pretty good condition. We had heard from otehr travelers that the road had been subjest to extensive maintenance recently because the Gibb River Road became the main highway earlier in the year when Fitzroy Crossing was clossed due to floods.

Early afternoon we arrived at Ellenbrae Station and after checkin and coffee we settled into their camping ground for the night.
