With the tyre repaired yesterday we all decided we would spend today taking the hike to Manning Gorge. The first obstacle on the hike is a river which requires about 100m of swimming and then a 2-3km walk over rocky ground and up and down through a number of sharp creek beds. Brendon took on the job of being guide and assistant to Nina and did a splendid job.
The Gorge, large pond and waterfall had much more water flowing than when we made this same excursion in 2019 and provided a wonderful water playground. We spent a few hours there enjoying the sun and the water.
By the time we decided to walk back to camp the sun was well and truely up and blazing and the walk was taxing for Nina and I.
Unfortunately somewhere in the excursion to the Gorge and other activities of the afternoon Nina managed to misplace her glasses. A very thorough search and attemp to retrace all activities failed to find them, including Brendon swimming across the river for a search on the opposite bank. Very frustrating for Nina and now she cannot read.
