Today we started a planned 1 month trip to explore parts of Western NSW and what is called "corner country", the area where NSW, SA and QLD meet. In the process we hope to visit the iconic outback town of Birdsville.

Completion of packing dragged on so we did not get underway until midday.

We followed our usual route over the Blue Mountains through Galston Gorge, Windsor, Richmond, Bell-Line-of-Road to Lithgow. Given that today was Easter Saturday we were surprised by how light the traffic was.

We found a nice camping spot at Macquarie Woods about 30 km before the town/city of Orange. Its a very large grassed area in a small national forest that could hold thousands.
