It is Thursday so it must be Malaysia. The day started inauspiciously as we had to run about 500 meters to the port building and the tour bus in torrential rain. But the day got better after that.
The bus was to take us to two locations in a city called Putrajaya. This city is 40-50km south of Kuala Lumpur and is the Malaysian equivalent of Canberra, that is a town and central administrative complex for the Malaysian government.
The first stop gave us a chance to walk around and get a small taste of Putrajaya Botanical Gardens. These grounds are on the banks of Lake Putrjaya and give views of various spectacular Government Buildings and the massive pink Mosque (called Putra Mosque) that, in some regards, is the centerpice of Putrajaya. We enjoyed our stroll through the gardens.
The second and last stop was in front of Putra Mosque.
As we left the Putra Mosque Nina noticed a sign with the words Malaysia Madani and asked "do you know what that means"; and of course I didn't. But google answered. It is almost an acronym in the Malay language that sets out governance principals which were adopted as national policy in January 2023. Here is a link Madani
Here are the English words that in Malay comprise the acronym:
Sustainability
Care and Compassion
Respect among citizens
Innovation
Prosperity
Trust in institutions
