We arrived in Colombo this morning and docked in the midst of the very busy container and general cargo port. There was a sign implying that we were in a Cruise ship port but it was really only a token effort. The other aspect of the port that we noticed immediately was the worn nature of a lot of the port infrastructure and many of the docked ships.

After lunch we were booked on a tour of Colombo city. But I was not feeling well so Nina got to undertake that adventure solo. As she would relay to me later she found this a very exciting outing. She seems to have really enjoyed the crowded chaos of the streets with vehicles, people and men pulling hand carts, all trying to make their way.

Some of the highlights she shared with me when later we scrolled through her photos from the day. Main Street, Pettah Bazaar, The Red Mosque (Jami UI-Afar), Victoria Park and Independence Square. The photos are all labelled.
