Disembarkation was a slow affair. It seems that Europe has a new immigration computer system that will record biometric info about all people entering Europe in order to accurately enforce Shengen immigration rules. We got our first taste of this system today and while it might be comprehensive it is also slow. It took us about an hour to get through customs and immigration in Lisbon.

First day - Tuktuk tour

After a short taxi ride we arrived at our hotel, checked in, dropped our luggage and then waited outside to meet our Tuktuk for a 1/2 day tour of the city of Lisbon. The electric powered tuktuk turned out to be a great vehicle for the tour; small and maneuverable in the tight streets and heavy vehicle and foot traffic, easy to get in and out of, plus no glass to impede photos while moving.

Second day

No formal tour today just some walking around looking at the scenery. The place was crowded and noisy as by sheer coicidence we managed to be in Lisbon on the anniversary of the Carnation Revolution April 25th 1974 when Portugal finally broke free from a dictatorship that lasted from 1933 to 1974.
