A few miles to the blacktop of SR211, a few minutes to re-inflate our tires to highway pressures, and for a while at least our off-road adventures were over.

We continued west along SR211 to an entrance into Canyonland National Park and the Needles Overlook, then retraced our path east, past the entrance to Lockhart road, and continued east to connect with highway 191 that would take us north to the tourist town of Moab,

Along the way we took a detour 20+ miles west to another overlook from which we could see the Lockhart road. In horizontal distance we were no more that a mile from the road we traveled yesterday afternoon. But it was also a couple of thousand feet below us. From this lookout the country below us was a maze of canyons and gullies, so complex infact that it was hard to focus on it. The day was cloudy and the light not good for photography so we did not get any pictures that would do the scene justice.

Finally back on SR191 we rolled into Moab washed the ER, bought some groceries (particulary coffee - would you believe we ran out of that precious substance yesterday morning and I was forced to get started this morning without it). We are camped in a local RV park for the night in order to wash some clothes, catchup with emails etc and upload the journal.

But wouldn't you know it the parks internet connections is poor - the service would be considered second rate even in a 3rd world country. But I guess we will get over it.
