It is quit a few years since we last traveled highway 20 so today was by way of a re-introduction for us to the forests and spectacular mountains of the North Cascades, not to mention a dramatic change in climate from our recent months in Phoenix.

We noted a lot of people out on motorcycles. Something I am more aware of now that I am also a "rider".

Camping

On the Western Side of the Cascades we found a nice little forest campground call Kilpchuck, $6 per night for seniors. No facilities other than a loverly creek, a few mosquitoes and a nice network of walking trails.
