We arrived at Budapests Kerepesi station a bit past at 9:00 and were delighted to discover that our hotel was literally a 5 minute walk across the road. The plan was to have breakfast at the hotel, leave our luggage there and start the days tour activities. However by the time breakfast was over Nina's head was spinning and we were unable to join the group but rather pleaded with the hotel staff for a room so she could sleep until her "turn" had passed.

Fortunately Nina recovered within an hour and we were able to visit Buda Castle and were amazed by the massive renovations that were underway there. Infact there seemed to be major building renovation work underway every where we looked. Must be all the EU money that is flowing into Hungary.

After the visit to the Castle we walked back to our hotel along Rakoczi ut one of the cities main drags looking for dinner options.

As it turned out dinner was a bit of a contradiction. It started at the bar in the Novotel Hotel where Nina had coke and I had red wine (US$20 per glass) and finished at the Bamboo Chef a cheap Chinese smorgasboard where meals were US$3 each. We enjoyed both the drinks and the food.
