Today was a long day on the train travelling from Budapest to Vienna. The high point of the day however was that we ended up in Vienna a city we have not visited before.
However, as is often the case, Nina was up early for a morning walk and an opportunity to take those last couple of photos of Budapest.
The main railway station is south of the old city and is a massive complex that is really a cross between a train station and a shopping mall. It is the stop for all intercity trains as well as the local metro services.
We arrived in Vienna mid afternoon and Nina and I were keen to spend the remaining daylight getting a first glimpse of the city. So after checkin we found the nearest tram stop and after some research caught a D tram to the old city. The weather was raining so we did not get many photos on this excursion. The last photo regarding the Getapo Haus was somewhat sobering.
