During last evening the clouds gathered and covered the sky. Fortunately this did not result in rain but did make for a much warmer night than the previous one.

Today I am heading for the town of Newman, a town in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It has a population of about 6,500 and is a major iron ore mining town. Riding around the town one of the things that stands out is the number of worker accomodation units; this place must have a large in/out population. On the entrance to the town is a huge parking lot with a sign proclaiming Roadtrain assembly area.

I was not particularly inspired to take photos today as the clound made the light poor and I was keen to get to Mewmon.

The few photos below are of a roadhouse called Kumarina at which I had breakfast. Nina and I camped here in 2019 so I took a few photos to show her the changes that have taken place. Many more accomodation units for drivers and other workers that happen to be in the area and need accomodation.
