This morning while having breakfast and packing up I got a visit from some of the permanent residents of the Sandfire Road House.
Like yesterday the road was in good condition and provided fast travel, however also like yesterday there was very little of scenic interest. My highlights for the day were:
A charging station for Electric Vehicles. While it has some solar panels, its worth noting that it also has a diesel generator for when the sun does not shine and when too many vehicles arrive to be charged.
The small yellow flowered plant I think is wattle. This plant bordered the highway for many kms.
About 70km from Broome the road emerged from the scrub onto a wide and very flat floodplain. And yes they are large plumes of smoke in the distance, I assumed that local authorities were burning-off.
I spent the night at Roebuck Road House about 30 east of Broome; price and availability was the attraction of the road house. Though in truth the camping area is attractive with a very effective tree cover over almost all of the camping sites.
