The first stop of note on todays ride was the town of Cloncurry something like 60-70km from last nights camp at Mary Kathleen. This town is famous as the birth place of QANTAS. At the local airport the original hanger building still exists and is labelled with the original name of the airline Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service, from which the initials QANTAS were derived.
The town also has a museum/display dedicated to the Royal Australian Flying Doctor Service and and its originator John Flynn.
There after the day took a bit of a turn. At the next town, Julia Creek, I heard from Nina that our house was without electricity and as far as she could determine this was only a problem for our house and noone else in the street.
The rest of the day was spent with Nina and I exploring ways to diagnose the problem.
Nina spent the night in the house without power and I stayed in a cabin in the local caravan park.
The problem turned out to be a "blown circuit breaker" and was not fixed until the next day.
