John Denver's song Country Roads kept rolling through my head today as we drove I-79 and then I-64 through West Virginia (though you would hardly call these highways "country roads"). Perfect warm fall weather and beautiful rolling hills with mixed forests as far as the eye can see - I could feel why someone would want to sing about this country.
The rolling hills however picturesque made for some hard work for the truck. Many of the climbs although short were steep and we often had to change down and crawl to the top of the grade. The good news in all of this is that there was no repetition of overheating (as I had in Death valley after picking up the truck from GXV) nor any coolant flowing onto the ground as we had in the Canadian Rockies.
Tonights camp was a Loves truck stop near Grayson Kentucky.
