We had arranged to meet a cousin of Nina's this afternoon so we had time for a relaxed morning. We started the day with a drive through downtown Cabo which required some careful maneuvering through narrow streets and under low hanging trees, before heading west towards San Jose del Cabo. Along the way we stopped at Chileno beach for an hour or so to catch some sun. The beach was well looked after, the area was clean and tidy and well maintained restrooms were provided. There was a policeman in the parking lot presumably to ensure that things stayed orderly.
We arrived in San Jose a little early so stopped at one of the local supermarkets for some supplies before spending a couple of hours visiting.
The Cabo area is quite striking, beautiful blue seas and impressive mountains to the north. there is a lot of development in the form of up scale and mid scale hotels and resorts, lots of apartments, lots of American style shopping and good roads. I can see why people find it an attractive winter residence or place for a beach vacation.
After a pleasant couple of hours enjoying Barb and Ron's hospitality, catching up on families, and generally socializing we headed north along Mex 1 to the town Los Barriles.
We found a place at East Cape RV Resort about a block back from the beach in Los Barriles. This is very well apointed and well maintained RV park with all of the expected facilities including a hot tub and laundy.
