After all the chores were done we finally headed out of Moron to start our journey west. Initially the road headed south before a bridge carried us over the Delgermoron River and then for the next 60 km we followed those now familiar wheel ruts in the grass steppes (and also the followed the Delgermoron River). This section of "road" was, however, a little different. There were a few sections of graded road where the terrain narrowed beside the river or over a small saddle, and also this section of road had km posts; very civilized.

After about 50 km we passed the town of Burentogtoh and then climbed over Ulaan Bogoj Pass to rejoin the Delgermoron River but now in a narrower valley flanked by beautiful stone capped mountains (or maybe hills). It was quite a beautiful spot and we eventually selected a place close to the river to top up our water supply.

After collecting water we moved a few hunderd meters down the road to a flat open grassed area beside the river and made it our camp for the night.

For (I think) the first time on this trip we sat outside for our evening cocktails and even broke out the camping gear and did some of the evenings cooking outside. If was a great afternoon, bright sunshine, beautiful scenery and very little in the way of insects to disturb us. In fact the weather was so pefect we commented that it looked like being a good night for the moon and star watching. Of course that statement tempted the weather gods and by night fall the sky had clouded over and rain was falling; so much for star watching.

At the end of the days driving I examined that leaking oil seal and noted only a slight smeer of oil. So it is definitely leaking but only at a very slow rate.

Late in the afternoon an expedition truck passed by without so much as a wave of recognition. It was a large 6 wheel Mercedes truck, perhaps a Zetros, but it did not stay in view long enough for me to sure. It was traveling much faster than we do or can.
