Bright sun and warmer weather. Our route today took us back to the valley of the Tesiin River and for much of the day we traveled through that valley only occasionally leaving it to bypass narrow stretches of the valley. The Tesiin is a large river and seems to support a good size population of herders as we passed many Ger camps and herds of animals through out the day.
The road was a little better today and for long stretches we had smooth sandy two-track which allowed us to get our overage speed above the magic 20 km/h.
We stopped for the night about 15 km short of the town of Bayantes and decided to use the gentle breeze and bright sun to our advantage and do our washing (or at least Nina did our washing - my only contribution was the clothes line, and hanging out the washed clothes).
Please note how civilized this overland traveling is becoming - scones for morning tea. Nina made these yesterday evening. It was her first ever effort at making scones and I for one voted them a complete success.
