So we continued north today, more good highway and of course more trees. But the weather is good and life seems stress free - except for the water leak. I spent a little time trying to diagnose that issue during the drive but got no where. I really need to be able to pull the entire fresh water system apart but don't have the facilities, tools or parts to do that. The good news on the water front is that the isolation valves that were installed by GXV while we were back in the US have proven very useful. I have been able to isolate the hot water tank from the coolant system. That means I don't have to deal with hot components while I examine the area of the leak.

Our destination for the day was Koli. We heard about this place from some fellow travelers in Helsinki but did not really know what it was. Well it turns out to be a hill. By US/Canada standards not a very big hill (say 1300 ft above a base of 500 ft) but in Finland it qualifies as a sufficiently large hill to become a downhill ski resort. The other aspect of the hill is that it gives (when the light cooperates) some fabulous views of the area and really shows off the mix of small lakes and islands which comprise this part of Finland. On this subject Nina was reading yesterday that geographers estimate that Finland has 187,000 large lakes and in addition they estimate that its total coastline including river banks and lake shores is 315,000 km - not far short of the distance from the Earth to the Moon.

We camped for the night at a place called Future Freedom not far from the highway as it passes the Koli turnoff. It is locate next to a small lake and it has nice facilities. The owner was kind enough to show us an alternative entry way to avoid the low clearance gateway.

With our hot water out of action the campground was a welcome opportunity to have a shower.
