This morning after a little while traveling the road brought us to a long thin lake called Snasavatnet and there after followed the shore for its entire length. Along the lake there were a number of villages and many farms. The area had a general sense of being less remote with the buildings being even more well cared for and more traffic on the road. By the time we reached the city of Steinkjer a little while later the density of traffic, sections of 4 lane highway, and bustling businesses confirm that we are no longer in the remote north of Norway but heading towards more populated areas.
In Steinkjer I spent some time getting a new data chip for our iPad and some assorted other shopping. Meantime in the parking lot Nina had befriended a young Polish guy who was hitchhiking around Norway looking for work and hand undertaken to give him a ride if we saw him on the road. Sure enough just a few miles down the road there he was and we gave him a ride to the next small farming town - where he thought he had the best chance of getting work.
At the city of Stjordal we turned off the main E6 highway and started our trek south west towards our rendezvous point. The afternoons travel took us along a series of minor road through sections of farm country with fields of golden grain that looked to us (non farmers) like it was almost ready to harvest, and sections of lakes and mountain streams.
Finally we called it a day at a picnic area just short of the town of Roros. We noted that the information board in the picnic area suggested no overnight stays but we decided to ignore the suggestion. As the evening wore on 5 other campers pulled in and decided to also ignore the suggestion.
