We thought today would be a nice restful day at Blackmore Campground with the only pressing chore being the need to find a train to London for tomorrow. After an hour or so on the internet we concluded that it was probably in our interest to go to the nearby town of Worcester to buy and pickup our tickets as it seemed rather complicated to buy and pickup tickets online. So that is what we did and after 30 minutes and GBP30 we walked into the ticket office at the Worcester station to be told The trains may be on strike, come back tomorrow and see if they are running.

To say we were a bit shocked would be an understatement, we have not had to deal with industrial action interfering with out plans since we moved to the US in 1999. Nina pointed out to the ticket officer that it would cost us GBP60 for a round trip by taxi to/from the campground to see if the trains were running, not to mention our London hotel booking.

While this conversation with the ticket officer was going on, Nina was approached by a man who offered to drive us back to the campground for free. After some conversation we learned that he (this man) had traveled in Australia, and was at the station with his wife and daughter. After some further discussion he agreed to drive us to the bus station where we hoped to find a way to London.

Before the bus station however, the family wanted to call past their house to drop off the wife and daughter.

While we waited with the car out front of their house we noted that there was a crane on the skyline at the end of the street and that people where bungee jumping from a cage suspended from the crane. This seemed so bizarre that for a while we could not believe our eyes, but it was true - see the photos.

Anyway after some more little adventures we got tickets on the national Express bus to London for the following morning at 8:25.
