We made another visit to Hot Springs this morning before getting on our way. Nina wanted a few more photos and the town offered a good trail for her daily walk. Thereafter we spent a pleasant day driving through miles and miles of open grass lands.

At one point we got some unexpected entertainment when a couple of sheriff vehicles closed the road so that a local farmer could move a herd of cattle across the road. The entertainment was provided by the couple of cows that did not want to cooperate; had the farmers racing all over the place on their 4-wheelers.

One of the cows won the argument and didn't cross the road.

At the end of the day we found Hawk Springs State Rec. Area a nice little campground a few miles off the highway beside a reservoir with not a soul camping there.

Nina was particularly pleased with this camping spot. She does not like staying in KOA's and the like, and so far on this trip we have used a lot more such places than would normally be the case because of our heater problems.
